Our Manufacturing Process

We create your space for .
Drill bits

With so many cabinet options available, what do you need to look for in a high quality cabinet?

01

Cabinet box design and construction

  • Our framed cabinetry uses blind dado joinery for rock solid strength and streamlined appearance. Frameless cabinetry utilizes glued dowel construction with dadoed cabinet backs. Either construction method provides unsurpassed strength and beauty in finished cabinetry.

  • All exposed cabinet ends are trimmed, sanded, and finished flush, eliminating unsightly steps or joints on exposed ends. There are no production shortcuts to this level of sophisticated beauty, and it is one of the separating elements between fine cabinetry and mass manufactured boxes.

  • Available wide top rails and/or increased door reveal allow for convenient mounting of crown without extra blocking, saving material and valuable installation labor. Tailoring our cabinetry for efficient installation is just one of the many ways your investment in Lancaster Maid cabinetry pays dividends on your project to create overall value.

  • Protective buttons and wood strips shield finished ends from damage during transit and onsite handling. Little things like this make all the difference when it comes to preventing mishaps before they can occur!

  • Thoughtfully engineered islands and custom assemblies to simplify field installation while providing a sophisticated end result.

Doors and hinging

  • Best practice door construction methods depending on style and function:

  1. Mortise and tenon five piece construction doors with solid hardwood framing and a floating center panel.

  2. Single piece double refined MDF doors precisely machined by CNC for maximum stability beneath solid color opaque (“painted”) finishes. These doors are machined with recessed or reverse raised panels on the back of the door to look just like their five-piece constructed brethren.

  • Unlimited styles including everything from simple slab or shaker all the way through highly ornate Victorian or Gothic details. Applied moldings, blended wood species, special glass mullion designs, even contemporary metal and glass doors are available.

03

Drawer boxes and slides

  • 5/8” thick solid wood dovetail construction

  • Finished as a box assembly so even the dovetail end grain is smooth to the touch

  • German engineered soft closing hidden Under-mount drawer glides

  • Drawer insert dividers including: cutlery and utensil dividers, Double tiered dividers, Adjustable dividers, Spice drawers, Knife drawers, etc.

  • Deep drawer plate storage with pegboard bottoms and movable posts

  • Rollout drawers with a scooped hand pull on the face of each rollout and Innovative tool-free height adjustment using X series metal brackets and a solid maple pilaster system.

Specialized Cabinet Storage

  • Can storage and spice storage pullouts in a range of sizes to maximize efficient use of available space.

  • Heavy-duty mixer lift that puts the mixer in position to work, then allows it to disappear behind a cabinet door.

  • Safety Susan base corner units that are gently cushioned to prevent pinched fingers, yet ready for heavy work with durable powder coated steel construction and sturdy round shelves capped with solid wood.

  • Unlimited types and sizes of special application storage solution possibilities that provide efficient and accessible storage for the perfect kitchen!

05

Finish

  • Top notch varnishes, precision Italian spray equipment, and technicians with talent, experience, and passion for their work.

  • Thorough attention to quality details unmatched in a mass production operation, including multi-step inspections with flashlight examinations.

  • Matte sheen finish for an attractive luster unlike plasticky-looking, gummy-feeling cheap lacquers and other inferior finishes.

  • Cabinet boxes and drawer boxes are finished as assembled units rather than in pieces, yielding superior fit and finish in the completed cabinetry.
