CABINET BOXES
Cabinet Front Frames are machined from solid ¾” thick wood in a variety of available species (Cherry, maple, red oak, etc). Front Frames are assembled using blind mortise & tenon joinery, and are attached to cabinet boxes with blind dado joinery. Cabinet boxes are constructed of ½” thick natural birch or maple veneer core hardwood plywood for the tops, bottoms, sides and backs. Our joinery methods allow for ¼” scribing of our cabinets at the sides, back & floor for untrue walls & floors. Finished outer cabinet sides are machined from ¾” thick veneer core hardwood plywood, with the outside to match the specie of the cabinet face. Base cabinets have open tops with ½” plywood support rails, except on full inset applications, where ALL bases have full tops (except any sink base).

DRAWERS
All drawer boxes feature dovetailed joinery with 5/8” thick solid wood sides, fronts & backs, and a dadoed ¼” thick hardwood veneer core plywood bottom. Most commonly, we utilize undermount, full extension drawer slides with a soft-closing feature, but we also offer epoxy coated steel roller slides, and side mount full extension ball bearing slides.

SHELVES
All of our shelves are cut from ¾” thick natural birch or maple veneer core hardwood plywood. Typical cabinets are drilled for adjustable height setting of the shelves.

FINISH
All of our finishes are based on state-of-the-art, high solids, acid-catalyzed conversion varnishes. This includes our full coverage pigmented conversion varnishes, which we refer to as “paints.” Most of our stains are hand-wiped to highlight the beauty of our northern Appalachian hardwoods. Toned finish processes are sometimes applied, and we also offer glazing, distressing, and matte finishes, among other options.

HINGING
We offer a full array of hinging options, ranging from decorative steel full inset hinges, to concealed 35mm overlay hinges, to knife cut partial overlay & partial inset hinges. Frameless-style hinges are used to achieve concealed inset configurations. Soft closing is available with some 35mm configurations.
